Description

I am an environmental analytical chemist and I am interested in the assessment of human exposure to legacy and emerging organic pollutants. I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at IDAEA-CSIC studying human exposure to plasticizers and PFAS through consumer products and evaluating the health risks associated with these exposures.
During my master´s in environmental chemistry I worked on the development and evaluation of an active air sampling method for the analysis of chlorinated paraffins using GC-Orbitrap-HRMS. During my PhD in health sciences, I studied temporal changes in human exposure to PFAS and other anthropogenic organofluorine chemicals using pooled human serum collected in Tromsø (Norway) between 1986 and 2015 and a combination of analytical methods for fluorine mass balance (including total fluorine, extractable organic fluorine, total oxidizable precursors assay, target analyses and suspect screening with LC-Orbitrap-HRMS and direct infusion FT-ICR-MS).
