Joaquim Jaumot Soler

Description

Joaquim Jaumot (Barcelona, 1978), a Research Scientist affiliated with the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA) at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). My academic journey began with a degree in Chemistry from the University of Barcelona (UB) in 2001, followed by the completion of my PhD in Chemistry at UB in 2006. Additionally, I hold a degree in Computer Science Engineering from the Open University of Catalonia (2009). My professional experience includes serving as a non-tenure assistant professor at UB from 2008 to 2012 and a JAE-DOC postdoctoral researcher at CSIC from 2012 to 2015, leading up to my current position. I have enriched my academic pursuits through international experiences, collaborating with Prof. Paul J. Gemperline at ECU, Greenville-NC, USA, and Prof. Jose C. Menezes at IST, Lisbon, Portugal. My current research focuses on the development and application of new analytical methodologies and chemometric data analysis strategies that can be useful for extracting chemical and biological information. This research aims to provide a better molecular-level understanding of the impact of environmental stressors. Over the years, I have leaded and contributed to various national and international projects, highlighting the Chemageb project, recognized with an ERC Advanced Grant to Prof. Romà Tauler.
