Abstract:
Desert dust, primarily composed of mineral particles from arid and semiarid regions, impacts the Earth´s atmosphere, climate, ecosystems and human health. To better evaluate these impacts, desert dust models must reduce uncertainties. n this study, samples were collected from four regions and analysed for particle size, aggregation, mineralogy and Fe modes of occurrences. Four different conceptual models have been developed to understand sediment properties and their impact on emitted dust and will guide future studies and improve desert dust emission models.
