The Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA-CSIC) is offering a technician position on high performance computing for geosciences and omics applications. We seek an HPC expert to optimize, and maintain high-performance computing systems.
What we are looking for
- Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer engineering or related discipline. - Professional experience
Experience in system administration and HPC will be a plus. - Competences
– HPC system design, administration and optimization.
– Parallel computing, distributed systems, and performance tuning.
– Skills in programming languages used in HPC (C++, Python, MPI, OpenMP).
– Understanding of operating systems and job schedulers.
– Interest in collaborative, multi-disciplinary research.
– Working proficiency in English.
Working conditions
- Contract duration: 36 months
- Estimated annual gross salary: The successful candidate will receive salary in accordance with the CSIC level M3 (around 32,465€/year gross salary). The exact salary will be confirmed upon appointment.
- Target start date: 1st June 2025
