Description

MSc. degree on Water Resources Engineering and Management from University of Stuttgart. I am working on HydroPore project and my research objective is to unravel and quantify the mechanisms and laws that govern multiphase flow and hydrodynamic transport in permeable media from the pore to the regional scale and derive a new approach for their systematic upscaling. In particular:
- investigate and quantify the detailed flow, transport and mixing dynamics in porous media at pore, Darcy and regional scales through the analysis of the Eulerian flow filed, concentration field, particle trajectories and Lagrangian flow properties.
- develop a new continuum approach for the multiphase flow in porous media with constitutive behaviours based on a sound physics-based description of the local scale dynamics
- implement numerically the derived upscaled models (continuous time random walk models, multi continuum models, lamellar mixing models).
