Janan Gawra
Description
Dr. Janan Gawra is a biologist currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the IDAEA-CSIC. He is involved in the European EPIBOOST project, where his focus is on studying the epigenetic and gene expression changes in zebrafish and seabass in response to environmental pollutants.
Dr. Gawra earned his Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Perpignan, France. During his doctoral studies, he aimed to investigate the genetic and epigenetic markers associated with Pacific oyster resistance to a polymicrobial disease. He was awarded with the Erasmus Mundus joint master scholarship, which supported his pursuit of a Master's degree in Tropical Biodiversity and Ecosystems (TROPMUNDO). Prior to that, he completed his Bachelor's degree in Biology at the University of Duhok, Iraq.
