Description
I am a biology graduate from the University of Granada and a Masters in Zoology from the Complutense University of Madrid. I am currently a Ph.D. student in river ecology at the FEHM-lab of the University of Barcelona and IDAEA. My research focuses on the study of macroinvertebrate communities in temporary rivers and how different factors shape them. I use traditional taxonomic approaches, functional traits and molecular metabarcoding techniques. I also focus on the study of river insect biodiversity in a context where the scarcity of faunal studies threatens basic ecological knowledge. I am currently the coordinator of young AIL researchers of the Iberian Association of Limnology (J-AIL).
