Description

I hold a Master’s degree in Chemical Analysis & Quality Control and a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. During my postgraduate studies, my research focused on identifying transformation products of emerging contaminants generated through tertiary treatment processes that are applied in wastewater treatment plants. I have also actively contributed to environmental monitoring studies in diverse ecosystems, including the Danube River, the Black Sea and the Dniester River, employing High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRMS) methodologies. Currently, as a Marie-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow and a member of the Expo-Hum research group, led by Dr. Pablo Gago-Ferrero, I am engaged in investigating the chemical exposome of brain tumor tissues and assessing the exposure of Barcelona citizens to a mixture of contaminants. This involves a comprehensive analysis of air particulate matter, wastewater, and sewage sludge to better understand and address environmental and public health challenges.
