Description

Paula Ruiz obtained her BSc in Chemistry at the University of Barcelona (UB). Her interests in analytical methods lead her to acquire a MSc in Analytical Chemistry (UB), where she focused her research on optimizing analytical techniques for detecting pesticide metabolites in urine samples, specifically assessing exposure in vulnerable population groups. This work was conducted under the guidance of Mercè Garí at the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA).
Currently, Paula is working as a research technician at IDAEA within the Geochemistry and Pollution research group. In this role, she continues to contribute to research on environmental contaminants, focusing on the development and optimization of analytical techniques to monitor pollutants and assessing their impact on human health and the environment.
