Sergio Carrero Romero

Description

Dr. Sergio Carrero is geochemist and expertise in rock-water interaction. His research has been focused on the structural and geochemical characterization of nanominerals formed in highly polluted environments as well as on the analysis of geochemical gradients, metal mobilization and mineral alteration in natural rocks, implementing new-edge high resolution techniques as synchrotron radiation. He has also shown interest in the reactions which take place at the micro and nano scale between mineral surface with metals and anions in solution. The understanding and prediction of metal and oxyanion behavior in surface and ground water requires the compression of all interaction between rock and water from metric to micro, and even nano, scale.
With 17 articles in SCI journals, Dr Sergio Carrero has incorporate in IDAEA-CSIC as project scientist after 3 years postdoc in University of California at Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Lab.
