The Volatile Organic Compounds Analysis service provides sampling, identification and quantification of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted into the environment from anthropogenic and biogenic sources. Dynamic methods onto sorbent cartridges are used for atmospheric samples and BIO-VOC™ devices and sorbent cartridges for exhaled breath samples. These samples are analyzed by thermal desorption coupled to gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. Aldehydes are determined by high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detector. VOCs present in water samples are analyzed by purge and trap coupled to gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. The service also provides analysis of VOCs emitted by textile materials and present in pharmaceutical products.
