Our service

Summary

The Biomonitoring and Taxonomy of Aquatic Macroinvertebrates service provides sampling of macroinvertebrates in surface aquatic ecosystems (rivers and lakes), basic physicochemical characterization of water (pH, temperature, conductivity and dissolved oxygen), and assessment of river habitat and riparian vegetation quality using in situ indices.

In addition, the service specializes in the processing and taxonomic identification of benthic macroinvertebrate samples at the family and/or genus level, as well as in the calculation of various biological indices for water quality monitoring based on benthic community composition, following standardized protocols established under the European Union Water Framework Directive.
