Liliya Sokalchuk Sokalchuk
Description
My name is Liliya Sokalchuk Sokalchuk, I am a biotechnologist and recently I finished a Master of Science in Applied Microbiology at the ‘Autonomous University of Barcelona’.
I did my MSc internship at ‘Institute for Health Science Research Germans Trias I Pujol (IGTP)’ in the research group ‘Innovation in Respiratory Infections and
Diagnosis of Tuberculosis’ and I started working there as a Laboratory Technician and Project Manager.
During this period, I was involved in a study related to the characterization of regulatory B-cells and cytokine secretion for tuberculosis management using flow cytometry.
Now, due to my knowledge of this technique and my degree in biotechnology, I’m starting my PhD in the group of Environmental Toxicology in IDAEA-CSIC and the main activities that are programmed to be done during my thesis are:
- Zebrafish embryo toxicology assays.
- Use of the flow cytometer for the analysis and separation of cell populations.
- Set-up and analysis of single cell samples using multi-omics approaches.
- Genomic analysis of zebrafish samples exposed to environmental contaminants.
