Analysis of Hydrogeochemical Parameters in Water (TOC-L CSH)

Our service
Summary
The Analysis of Hydrogeochemical Parameters in Water service specializes in the analysis of organic matter in water, i.e. total carbon (TC) in its particulate and dissolved fractions, a key parameter for water quality control (e.g. RD 3/2023).
To this end, it is equipped with a Shimadzu TOC-L CSH analyzer, which allows the determination of total carbon (TC), inorganic carbon (IC) and non-purgeable organic carbon (NPOC), including TC, TOC, TIC, DOC and DIC, in aqueous matrices following standardized protocols approved under the European Union Water Framework Directive. This analyzer enables the measurement of environmentally relevant concentrations (0–30,000 mg/L), with a detection limit as low as 4 µg/L, depending on whether a low- or high-resolution method is used.
This service is available to researchers at IDAEA, other CSIC institutes, research centers, universities, and public and private entities.
