Summary

The Physicochemical Characterization of Environmental Samples service includes the following equipment:

An HPLC system for the determination of anions in liquid samples.

A set of ion-selective electrodes for the determination of total Cl, total F and ammonium in liquid samples or leachates from solid samples.

An OC/EC analyzer for the determination of total carbon (TC), organic carbon (OC) and elemental carbon (EC).

A LECO AMA-254 mercury analyzer for the determination of Hg.

Two X-ray diffraction (XRD) systems for the crystalline characterization of solid samples.

An inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer (ICP-AES) for the multi-element determination of major elements.

An inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) for the multi-element determination of trace elements.
