Alexandre Puyguiraud is a permanent researcher at CSIC’s Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA) in Barcelona. His research explores how water, solutes and reactive compounds move and mix through complex porous materials such as soils, rocks and aquifers.
By combining theory, numerical modelling and data analysis, he studies how microscopic flow processes shape transport behavior at larger scales. His work contributes to improving predictions of dispersion, mixing and reactions in groundwater and other porous systems, with relevance for environmental assessment, contaminant transport and sustainable water-resource management.
