Summary

I have a background in Civil Engineering, and I also hold a Master’s degree in Hydrogeological Engineering. I have developed strong skills in groundwater flow modeling, sediment and erosion processes, contaminant transport modeling, and environmental remediation. I am currently working at the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Studies (IDAEA), Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), as a pre-doctoral researcher.

My research focuses on (i) developing a detailed three-dimensional model of specific contaminants that incorporates the main processes controlling their evolution in the aquifer, and (ii) establishing a workflow to integrate measured data into the numerical model to increase the realism of the predictions. The modelling framework integrates PHT3D coupled with MODFLOW-USG, MT3DMS, and PHREEQC to simulate flow, transport, and reactive processes, while a conceptual site model guides sampling and risk assessment.

This research is being carried out within the framework of the European project URBANM2O (EFFECTIVE MONITORING AND MODELLING SOLUTIONS FOR DATA-DRIVEN HOLISTIC MANAGEMENT OF URBAN WATER QUALITY).
