Summary

I’m a Swiss biologist with a background in marine biology and ecology. I began my academic journey at the University of Lausanne (Unil, Switzerland), where I earned a master’s degree in Behaviour, Evolution, and Conservation. My master’s thesis research focused on non-invasive techniques using environmental DNA (eDNA) in both open and closed ocean areas to detect the presence of specific marine species, applying barcoding (qPCR) and metabarcoding (NGS) methods.

I completed my PhD in Marine Biology and Ecology in 2025 at the Marche Polytechnic University (Univpm, Ancona, Italy), where I investigated the accumulation and negative effects of microplastic ingestion in fish, as well as strategies to mitigate these impacts.

Currently, I work as a postdoctoral researcher at IDEA-CSIC, and my research focuses on emerging contaminants in marine ecosystems and their relationship with climate change.
