Summary

Eva Prats holds a PhD in Biology from the University of Barcelona (1989) and completed postdoctoral training specialized in Molecular Biology. Since 2006, she has served as Head of the Animal Facility and Animal Welfare Service at the Research and Development Center (CID-CSIC), providing suport to the two institutes housed at the center, the Institute of Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (IQAC-CSIC) and the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA-CSIC), as well as to other research institutions.

She collaborates with multidisciplinary research groups whose projects involve laboratory animal experimentation, offering expertise in animal welfare, facility management, and experimental design. During her tenure, she has promoted the setup and development of aquatic facilities, enabling the implementation of technology for zebrafish research.

Her current research focuses on the molecular and behavioural mechanisms underlying the neurotoxic effects of environmental pollutants and drugs, using zebrafish as a vertebrate model for environmental toxicology and neuropharmacology studies.
