I am an analytical chemist specializing in high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS), with expertise in the identification and characterization of emerging contaminants in complex environmental and biological samples. My research combines liquid and gas chromatography HRMS, non-target and suspect screening, chemometrics, and quantitative approaches to investigate chemical exposure and the occurrence and fate of contaminants.
During my research at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Yale School of Public Health, I developed and applied advanced workflows for environmental analysis, exposomics, and mass spectrometry imaging. At the German Environment Agency (UBA), I gained experience in translating analytical research into environmental monitoring and chemical regulation, while leading a subproject involving 15 external partners across Europe.
As a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at IDAEA-CSIC, I will focus on developing innovative quantitative non-target screening approaches for the characterization of emerging contaminants in human samples, aiming to improve our understanding of chemical exposure and advance analytical tools for exposome research.
