Our service

Summary

The CID Animal Facility provides services to the two institutes at the centre (IQAC and IDAEA), as well as to external users from public and private institutions, supporting research involving experimental animals.

The facility has qualified and accredited personnel who are responsible for the care and maintenance of experimental animals and provide support and advice to researchers, while ensuring animal welfare in accordance with current regulations on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes and under the supervision of the CID Animal Experimentation Ethics Committee.

The facility has dedicated rooms for housing different mammalian species (rabbits, rats and mice), as well as an aquatic platform for zebrafish, supporting basic and applied research in various scientific fields, including chemistry, biomedicine, physiology and toxicology.

It also offers a polyclonal antibody production service using mice, rats and rabbits, available to both internal users and external public and private institutions.
